Breaking News Sunday, September 24th, 2000: Massachusetts Loses Ikeda, Will Miss Season Tadakuni Ikeda will soon find out from his doctors if his season will continue. The first diagnosis was not too positive and stated the Massachusetts starting pitcher could miss the remainder of the year. Ikeda was injured while throwing a pitch in the Emeralds-Curve clash at UTC Ballpark recently. Doctors said he has a herniated disc and would be out a minimum of 6 weeks. So far in 2000 Ikeda has compiled a 12-11 record with a 3.45 ERA. Saturday, September 23rd, 2000: Pérez's Hit Streak Soars to 20 Games Rafael Pérez of the New Jersey Curve has now hit safely in 20 straight games. He socked 2 hits in today's 12-10 triumph over Massachusetts at The Fabulous Avalon. R. Pérez singled in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th, struck out in the 5th and struck out in the 8th. So far this year Pérez has hit .279 with 17 home runs, 65 RBIs, and 89 runs scored.
